BPA in canned green beans

BPA

The Environmental Working Group is reporting that their earlier findings relating to bisphenol A (BPA) being found in canned goods has been confirmed by a subsequent study by the Food and Drug Administration. According to the report on BPA, one can of green beans tested by the FDA had 730 ppb BPA. In addition to these levels of BPA raising concerns about permanent toxicity in those consuming the BPA, over 90% of the canned foods tested by the FDA had some level of BPA. The results of the BPA study are concerning and hopefully the agency can get to the bottom of things so that we all can feel safe in time for holiday green bean casserole.
