Patent teaches how to clean radioactive water

United States Patent No. 6,709,599 issued to Stafan Rosenberger of Moembris, Delaware teaches a multi-filter system for the cleaning of radioactive water. According to the patent, an the initial ultrafiltration membrane cleans the nuclear contaminated water.  However the process is different from similar treatment systems in that the water that is not treated by the ultra filtration membrane is recycled and passed through a more porous secondary filter.  After ultrafiltration, the water is then treated by ion exchange or by reverse osmosis. According to the patent the filtration loop associated with the ultrafiltration membrane results in a more efficient cleaning of the radioactive water.
