Combination CO2 and H2S sequestration

United States Patent No. 7,892,324 entitled “Systems and methods for carbon dioxide capture” which was issued to Frydman, et al. teaches a method for purifying a syngas that is rich in both CO2 and H2S. Although the process is fairly complicated, a solvent is used in a high pressure absorber to absorb the acid gases (CO2 and H2S). The acid gases are then recovered through a combination of a flash drum and an acid gas stripper. After the acid gases have been separated they are compressed for sequestration.  The patent is assigned to General Electric Company of Schenectady, NY.
