Fraisse Fertilizer Application Program

Fraisse Fertilizer Application Program

Clyde Fraisse of Prosser, Washington and several other inventors have received a patent for a technique that applies variable amounts of fertillizer to fields based on estimates of the nutrients currently in the fields. (US Patent No. 7,171,912)  The patented technique uses images of the vegetation and images of the bare soil to make the estimates of the correct amount of fertilizer to apply.  The face of the patent lists The Mosaic Company of Minnetonka, Minnesota as the Assignee.  This technology and other related technologies have promise for maintaining or improving yield while decreasing the total amount of nitrates and phosphates that are allowed into the streams and rivers.  [technorati AUATNMJ8SDCB]
